CII members threaten to quit council

ISLAMABAD, Sept 28: Chairman Council of Islamic Ideology (CII) Dr Khalid Masood said on Thursday that all members of the council would collectively submit their resignation if the government did not address their reservations over formation of a non-parliamentary committee on women protection bill.

According to a TV report, the CII chairman said that all members of the council had lodged their protest against formulation of the said committee.

He said that they would meet President Pervez Musharraf to discuss the issue and “if our reservations are not addressed, we will collectively resign”.
