KARACHI, Sept 27: Hameed Ansari’s hat-trick helped Young Ansari get off to a confident start when they whipped Korangi Mohammadan 6-4 in the KASB soccer league CDGK Stadium on Tuesday.

Hameed Afridi opened the account for the winners in the 17th minute before Amjad equalised in the 22nd minute. Korangi went ahead when Amjad again came into action five minutes later.

Mohammad Nabi of Young Ansari put the game on an even keel in the 29th minute. Refusing to buckle under pressure, the losers scored again with Salman Ahmad finding the net in the 36th minute only to see Young Ansari’s Umar Nawab slamming home the equaliser in the 55th minute.

But then, Hameed Ansari found the target twice in the 57th and 63rd minutes respectively to make it 5-3 and it appeared a winning margin.

However, Amjad netted again in the 67th minute to close the gap for the losers but their celebrations were short-lived as Hameed completed his treble in the 70th minute to give Young Ansari a deserved victory.
