WASHINGTON, Sept 27: Sales of new US homes rose a faster-than-expected 4.1pc last month to register their first increase since March, the Commerce Department said Wednesday.

Sales rose to an annualised clip of 1.050m, better than Wall Street’s consensus forecast of 1.040 million.

They rose in every region of the United States except the West, where they dived 17.7 per cent, the department said.—AFP
