Aamir bundles out Karachi Urban for 45

KARACHI, Sept 26: Pace duo of Mohammad Aamir and Tanvir Amin took nine wickets between them to bowl Rawalpindi to a crushing 10-wicket victory over Karachi Urban in the PCB Inter-region Under-19 One-day Cricket Championship at PCB Academy Ground on Tuesday.

Left-armer Aamir snapped up six for 20 in 10 overs and Tanvir Afzal grabbed three for eight in 6.5 overs as Karachi Urban crashed to 45 all out.

Rawalpindi, in reply, reached the target without any losing any wicket in mere 4.3 overs.

Mohammad Ibrahim hit five fours in his unbeaten 24 and Umar Amin made 16 not out as the match ended at 11.57am.

This could be the shortest one-day match in history of Pakistan under-19 cricket as it was decided in only 26.2 overs.

Only Behram Khan, nephew of former Test opener Mohsin Khan, reached double figures while extras were 10.

Four of Urban batsmen — Hasan Javed, Zeeshan Rahim, Zaheer Abbas and Shahzaib Khan —were dismissed without scoring.

It was one of pathetic display by KCCA’s junior side which reflected poor selection and sad state of affairs in city’s cricket affairs.

Last season, KCCA’s senior side, Karachi Zebras, finished at the bottom of the table of the one-day tournament, losing all five matches.

Summarised scores:

KARACHI URBAN 45 in 21.5 overs (Behram Khan 16; Mohammad Aamir 6-20, Tanvir Afzal 3-8); RAWALPINDI 46-0 in 4.3 overs (Mohammad Ibrahim 24 not out, Umar Amin 16 not out).—APP
