Four teachers for 400 college girls

Published September 26, 2006

SIALKOT, Sept 25: There are only four lecturers for more than 400 students at the Government College for Women, Zafarwal.

The college has been running in the dilapidating building of the Zafarwal sub-jail since establishment. As the building was not in use of the police department, the Narowal education department shifted the college to this building.

The students and their parents told newsmen that the college lacked all basic facilities and classrooms as there were only 100 chairs for more than 400 students.

The college is located in the constituency of federal health minister Naseer Khan and Punjab health minister Dr Tahir Ali Javaid.

The students, their parents and the local people have expressed concern over this critical situation, and urged the chief minister to look into the matter.
