KOHAT, Sept 25: The nazim and naib nazim of union council Jarma and two councillors have been booked for blocking the Indus Highway on Monday.

Nazim Tehseen Ahmed had gathered people on the road to protest against the arrest of a shopkeeper held by the staff of Jarma police post during a raid for checking prices.

The Saddar police asked him to open the road and not to interfere in official affairs, but he refused.

Consequently, the police booked the nazim, the naib nazim and councillors Wazir Khan and Anwar Khan under sections 341, 186, 148 and 149 of PPC.

No arrests were made till filing of this report.

AFGHAN KILLED: An Afghan refugee, Noo Azad, was crushed to death by a speeding car near Orakzai Square on Monday.

Police said that the driver escaped after the accident.

A case was registered against unidentified persons.
