Lahore Golf: Shahid remains in front

LAHORE, Sept 20: Shahid Javed Khan continued to dominate proceedings on the second day of the Lahore Gymkhana Open Golf Championship here on Wednesday. A second round of two birdies, 15 pars and one bogie helped Shahid to score an aggregate 139 (68,71) to maintain the lead. Shahid, however, enjoys a slim one stroke lead over rivals ely M. Munir and Akhtar Ali who are closely following at 140.

Munir, a seasoned golfer, is particularly capable of upsetting the leader on the final day.

Munir had improved his position after posting the best card of the day of four-under-par-68, 31 going out and 37 coming in, including six birdies on holes 2nd, 3rd, 6th, 8th, 10th, and 17th and two bogies on holes 12th and 16th.

Third position is jointly shared by M. Matloob and Imdad Hussain, both bracketed at 141.

In the amateur section, Aadil Jahangir is leading with an aggregate score of 149 followed by Murad Khan at 154.

In the ladies section, Shahzadi Gulfam is ahead of her rivals with an score of 82 after 18 holes. Second placed is Jameela Jabbar.

Manzoor Ahmad dominates the senior professionals section with score of 73.
