Two held for kidnapping trader

GUJRANWALA, Sept 19: A commission agent of the local fruit market was kidnapped for ransom here on Tuesday in Baghbanpura over a business dispute while the police arrested two accused in the case.

According to reports, Wajid Munir -- the trader -- was present at his shop when Azher and Usman kidnapped him and took him to Lahore.

Later, they telephoned the members of his family and demanded a ransom of Rs2 million for his release.

Meanwhile, Wajid’s brother Khalid Munir lodged an FIR with the Baghbanpura police which conducted a raid and arrested both the nominated accused from their houses.

However, the police was conducting raids for the recovery of Wajid.
