Maid shot dead

RAWALPINDI, Sept 18: A maid was shot dead by two motorbike riders in People’s colony, while an aged man was killed in a road accident in the Civil Lines area on Monday, police said.

Rehana Yasmin was on her way to home in People’s colony street 7 when two motorbike riders intercepted and shot her dead on the spot and escaped.

The motive behind the murder is being investigated by the police.

Meanwhile, an unidentified man was killed after being run over by a van in the Civil Lines police area. The victim’s body was shifted to the District Headquarters Hospital (DHQ) for postmortem.

ROBBERIES: Nearly Rs594,000 and gold ornaments were looted on Monday, police said.

A gang of six robbers entered the house of Major Gohar, a serving army officer, in the Airport Housing Scheme and held his family at gunpoint and took away Rs144,000 and gold ornaments.

In the second incident, a man was robbed of Rs450,000 by two car riders in the New Town area.
