DERA ISMAIL KHAN, Sept 14: The Chief Election Commissioner has issued a notification of removal of Dera Ismail Khan Nazim Mukhtar Ahmad Khan from his office, official sources said on Thursday.

The former nazim was unseated through a no-confidence move on Sept 11.

The notification said that the no-confidence motion against the district nazim, Mukhtar Ahmad Khan, has been passed and hence he stood removed from the office.

A copy of the notification was sent to the Returning Officer, Senior Civil Judge Asad Hameed Khan Bangash.

District council convener, Abdur Rashid Dhap, was appointed as caretaker nazim.

Fresh election to the post will be held within four months from the date the office fell vacant.
