Girl raped, poisoned to death

GUJRANWALA, Sept 13: A girl was allegedly gang-raped and later poisoned to death by some vagabonds at Ramkey Sundhawn village, Ferozewala, on Wednesday.

Reports said ‘N’ was on her way home from fields when Rifaqat Ali and his accomplices took her away at their outhouse outside the village where they raped her and later poisoned her to death. They escaped after throwing the body in the fields.

The Ferozewala police recovered the body and instituted a case against the suspects. DPO Mian Muhammad Asif has sought a report about the incident.

CHILD RECOVERED: A bailiff of the sessions court on Wednesday raided the Qila Deedar Singh police station and recovered a child who was detained in the ASI’s room without registration of any case against him.

The bailiff produced him before the court who got registered an FIR against ASI Nazir and directed the DPO to take appropriate action against SHO Tauseef Ahmad.

It is learnt that Tahir Fayyaz, 13, had been kept in illegal confinement at the behest of his stepmother Safia Fayyaz.
