Published September 12, 2006

QUETTA, Sept 11: PML-N secretary-general Iqbal Jhagra has said that people of Punjab have rejected government policies relating to military operation in Balochistan and denial of political rights to the Baloch people.

He was addressing a press conference here on Monday. He was accompanied by party’s legislators Tehmina Daultana, Khawaja Asif, Momina Hashimi, Sardar Zulfiqar Ali Khoso, Sardar Yaqoob Nasar and Pervaiz Raja Iqbal.

Mr Jhagra said that their visit to Quetta was to express solidarity with the Baloch people in the wake of Nawab Bugti’s killing.

He said that Nawab Bugti’s killing was part of a conspiracy to isolate Punjab from the other three provinces.

Mr Jhagra quoted Nawaz Sharif as saying that the people of Punjab were with the Baloch people in the struggle against Musharraf government, adding that Punjab would not leave the Baloch people alone in difficult times.
