Young girl shot dead in Gambat

KHAIRPUR, Sept 30: Naeema Jatoi, 16, daughter of Wali Muhammad Jatoi, was shot dead by some armed men in her house in the Gambat town on Saturday.

Her parents were not at home when the assailants barged into the house and shot her to death.

The girl’s father lodged a case with the Gambat police. No one had been arrested till the filing of this report.

SUICIDE: Mushtaq Ahmed, 30, son of Gul Muhammad Memon, committed suicide here on Saturday night.

He ended his life by throwing himself in front of a train, carrying goods, near the Garhi Pul area. He was a soldier and a heroin addict.

The cause of the suicide remained a mystery till the filing of this report.

ZAKAT MUSTEHQEEN: The district Nazim, Syeda Nafisa Shah, has said that it is the responsibility of government to help the poor.

She was speaking at a cheque distribution ceremony in Nara taluka on Saturday.

She distributed cheques worth Rs684,000 among 456 Mustehqeen from the Zakat fund allowance.

PIE DOGS: Ten people, including two girls, were injured when they were bitten by pie dogs in the Kot Mir Muhammad near Pir Jo Goth of the Kingri taluka on Saturday.

Those injured were identified as Ghulam Rasool, Aslam, Arz Muhammad, Saima, Ghanwar Khan, Basheer, Bahar, Aijaz Ali, Kanwal and Ali Khan.

They were admitted to a local hospital. The dogs were later killed by the villagers.
