PESHAWAR, Sept 11: Immigration police at the Peshawar airport detained a man who was trying to board a flight for Saudi Arab on a forged passport on Monday, said a senior official.

Irfanullah, a resident of Takhat Bhai (Mardan), came to the immigration counter for document clearance as he wanted to travel to Riyadh via Qatar by a Qatar Airways flight (QR-347), said Inamullah Khan Gandapur, action deputy director immigration.

The passenger presented his passport (AC-040976) to the immigration police in which his name was mentioned as Jehangir. Seeing the difference in the face of the passenger and the photograph on the passport, the official interrogated Irfanullah who confessed to having tampered with the passport, Mr Gandapur said.
