Punjab win National Jr Swimming

KARACHI, Sept 10: Swimmers from Punjab hogged the limelight by grabbing 556 points to win the two-day 14th National Junior Swimming Championship which concluded here at the PNS Karsaz swimming pool on Sunday says a press release.

The championship, held under the auspices of Sindh Swimming Association, was participated in by Punjab, Sindh, NWFP, Federal, Wapda, Army and Navy teams.

Punjab swimmers, displaying their prowess in the pool, bagged 21 golds, 26 silver and 15 bronze to finish with an overall tally of 62 medals. Sindh, with 385 points was placed second. The Sindh swimmers claimed 12 gold, 16 silver and 17 bronze to end up with an overall medals tally of 45. The NWFP, with 241 points, came third.
