TAXILA, Sept 10: Prime Minister Shaukat Aziz has said the present government is committed not only to providing basic amenities to the masses but also creating employment opportunities for their economic uplift.

He was addressing a public meeting at the formal inauguration of the Tehsil Headquarters (THQ) hospital Hassanabdal on Sunday. The hospital has been constructed with the prime minister’s special grant worth Rs10 million.

Minister of State for Environment Malik Amin Aslam, Attock District Nazim Tahir Sadiq, Tehsil Nazim Shafqat Khan Tahirkheli and a large number of public representatives and PML office- bearers were also present on the occasion.

The prime minister said the government had launched a comprehensive plan to provide all basic facilities including health, education and utilities in rural areas to bring these on a par with the urban areas.

He said the recently launched Rozgar Scheme would provide the masses with self-employment opportunities, helping them improve their living standards. This programme will be expanded further and an internship scheme for the youth will also be initiated.
