LAHORE, Sept 5: Sindh and Balochistan have confirmed their participation in the 2nd Inter-provincial games to be held from Sept 16 to 18.

The contingents of both the provinces will be reaching Lahore on Sept 15, secretary Punjab Olympic Association Idris Haider Khawaja informed the organising committee of the games which met on Tuesday.

However, the organising committee failed to change the early decision of holding the games on knock out basis instead of league basis.

Some members of the organising committee were interested in holding the games on league basis as it is the only way to make it more competitive for all teams.

But on knock-out basis, some province will come from all the way to play only one match and go back and that shows the organizers are more interested in filling their own pockets instead of giving the players maximum matches.

Surprisingly, the Punjab Olympic Association, the organizers, opted for the knock-out system, despite the fact such type of system is adopted for those tournaments where a good number of teams are competing.
