KOHAT, Sep 5: Employees of the tehsil municipal administration have criticised induction of a 25-member football team on contract and asked the nazim to first ensure timely disbursement of salary and overtime to the existing staff.

President TMA Employees Union Mohammad Suhail said in a press statement here on Monday that they had sent a letter to the TMO and the tehsil nazim asking them how they would manage to pay Rs3000 per player when the TMA was suffering Rs15m deficit every year.

He said that on the one hand the administration had laid off 156 staff members a few months ago on the plea they were burden on the budget and on other a 25-member team and a coach from army had been hired on contract basis. He said the coach is already an employee of the armed forces and under the rules could not keep two governments jobs at the same time.

“I have informed the high-ups about this illegal induction for which no allocation had been made in the recent budget,” he said, adding that the TMA had been unable to release salaries, overtime and pensions in time.
