QUETTA, Sept 4: Gas supply was badly affected to the Sui plant on Monday when armed men blew up the main pipeline near Sui supplying gas from the gas field. According to official sources, some unidentified men planted powerful explosives under the pipeline supplying gas from well No 48 of the Sui gas field and blew it up in the early hours.

“Gas supply to the purification plant has been badly affected due to the blast,” security officials in Sui town said, adding that the pipeline was 18 inches in diameter.

They said that a huge portion of the pipeline was destroyed in the blast.

“Restoring of the gas supply to the plant from the Sui gas field is expected within 24 hours,” they said.
