VEHARI, Sept 3: UK Parliamentarian Chaudhry Sarwar says the dream of a durable peace in the world cannot be realised till a change in double standard of the West.
He was addressing a ceremony held in connection with the inauguration of a housing scheme here on Burewala Road on Saturday night.
Chaudhry Sarwar said he presented his viewpoint in the House of Commons, in the presence of Prime Minister Tony Blair, that for a peace in the world, they must realise that a Muslim’s life was as precious as the life of a Jewish, an American or a Britain.
He said on the one hand, the US and the UK claimed themselves as torchbearers of human rights, but on the other their armies had committed atrocities in Abu Gharib and Guantanamo Bay.
He said the people fighting in Iraq, Kashmir, Palestine and Chechnya were not terrorists, but they were freedom fighters. He condemned those who were involved in suicide attacks and killing of innocent civilians, and said they were not friends of Islam or Pakistan because Islam does not teach such acts.
He urged the Muslims that they should make their house in order otherwise they would have to face the same situation in future also. He admitted that at present, the Muslims in Britain, America or Europe were facing many problems.
He said he through his younger generation was investing in Pakistan in many ventures, and the real estate was one of them. They were planning to install a power plant near Multan and construct a theme park in Northern Areas. He said an IT centre was already providing jobs to the youth in Lahore.
He said the killing of Akbar Bugti was an unfortunate incident. He said the government should resolve all political issues through talks.
