NOWSHERA, Sept 2: A government official was shot dead in front of his office at GT Road in Nowshera district on Saturday. Jehanzeb Khan, a social security officer, was the cousin of NWFP Health Minister Inayatullah Khan.

Hayatullah Khan, son of the murdered official, said he and his father were returning to Nowshera from Peshawar in their Hi-ace van.

He said when they got down from the van in front of the office, two persons opened fire on them, killing his father instantly.

In his statement before police, Hayatullah alleged that Health Minister Inayatullah Khan and his step-brother Anwar Khan used hired killers to kill his father over a property dispute.
