KARACHI: Shelter home

KARACHI, Sept 2: The community development department of the city government is establishing a shelter home for street children at Korangi No.5 in cooperation with the social welfare department and various NGOs.

At this centre, arrangements will be to impart training to the street children in carpet weaving, wood and electrical works besides paying special attention on their health and education.

This was stated by City Naib Nazim Nasrin Jalil, while speaking as chief guest at an awareness programme related to children's rights organised at French Culture Centre by Concern for Children Trust under Mohammedi Machhar Colony Community Development Project.—APP
