Six-goal Haseem shines for NBP

LAHORE, Aug 30: Six-goal Haseem Khan propelled National Bank of Pakistan to a 9-0 victory over POF Wah in the Governor's Gold Cup hockey tournament at the Faisalabad Hockey Stadium on Wednesday.

Haseem scored goals in 4th, 25th, 34th, 39th, 48th and 55th minutes of the match.

Another two goals were scored by Mohammad Asif in the 29th and 57th minute. Mohammad Tariq scored a goal in the 32nd minute.

In other matches, two goals by Imran Malik helped Punjab beat Pakistan Steel 5-3.

Imran struck in the 32nd and 48th minute while Irfan Akram (16th minute), Mustansar (34th min) and Shabbir (46th min) scored one goal each.

PIA beat Sui Gas 4-2. Malik Shafqat (21st minute), Kamran Ashraf (50th min), Asim (57th min) and Mehmood Ali (64th min) scored goals for the winners.

Thursday's matches: Sui Gas v Habib Bank; National Bank v Pakistan Army; Pakistan Steel v PIA.
