MUZAFFARABAD, Aug 30: The pace of reconstruction work in quake-hit areas of the Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK) is slow owing to closure of many roads. More than 50 major roads, including the airport road, Dhani Mall Safia Saray Dera road, Khori to Adher Kotli road, Bat Mung road, Serban road, Adiyala Potti road, Mir Kali road, Banda Shadera road, Mirpur road, Chilana Reyali, were closed.

Construction material has been lying in the depots of the Earthquake Rehabilitation and Reconstruction Authority (ERAA).

People say that the cost of per cement bag had been fixed at Rs300 which was beyond the reach of the common man.

They urged the AJK Prime Minister Sardar Attique Ahmed Khan and chief secretary to pay heed to the problem.—Online
