KASUR, Aug 30: Three policemen, including a sub-inspector, were arrested for subjecting a man to physical torture and keeping him in illegal custody at Allahabad police station here on Wednesday.

Reports said one Asif along with his accomplices had allegedly abducted two unmarried sisters. When the father of the girls, Abdul Shakoor, went to Allahabad police station to get his complaint registered, the SHO, Muhammad Rafiq, sub-inspector Rana Riaz and two other policemen subjected him to severe torture and kept him in illegal custody.

The girls’ grandfather, Baba M Ashiq, lodged a complaint about the incident with DPO Syed Ahmed Mobeen, who ordered registration of a case against the accused policemen after necessary inquiry

Allahbad police registered the case and arrested three of the accused policemen, including SI Rana Riaz, while raids were being conduct for SHO Rafiq.

TWO KILLED: A man and a woman were killed in car accident and their three fellow travelers injured on Kasur-Raiwind road near Bachoke bypass.

Reports said the car, on its way to Raiwind from Kasur, had a head-on collision with a speedy truck near Bachokey bypass. Driver Adnan and Naseem Bibi died on the spot, while three persons sustained serious injuries who were rushed to a hospital for treatment.
