PESHAWAR, Aug 29: NWFP Minister for Information Asif Iqbal Daudzai has urged the masses to support the MMA in the next general election because it will promote and safeguard Islamic values.

He was speaking at a ceremony to start classes in the Government High School, Haryana Bala, which had been built 15 years ago but could not be made functional for different reasons.

The minister blamed previous governments for backwardness of the NWFP, saying they had done nothing for development of the province and had misused the public exchequer.

He claimed that the MMA government had launched a number of development programmes and introduced reforms in public institutions.

He said establishment of a women’s university and a university of engineering and technology had been approved in his constituency. He said welfare schemes of Rs17 million had been completed in the Haryana union council.—PPI
