LAHORE, Aug 27: The Muttahida Majlis-i-Amal will on Monday take up in the National Assembly the killing of Baloch leader Nawab Akbar Bugti, says the alliance’s leader Liaquat Baloch.

Talking to Dawn, he demanded that the Supreme Court take a suo motu notice of the ‘murder’.

He said the issue would be taken up in the assembly through an adjournment motion.

“Gen Pervez Musharraf has removed a political opponent through the military, which cannot be allowed under the law of the land,” he said.

“Musharraf is directly responsible of the murder and should be treated as such,” he said and added: “He has been violating constitution frequently and the apex court must take notice of his actions. The death of Nawab Akbar Bugti is a clear case of state terrorism, which should not go un-noticed by the apex legal authority.”

Mr Baloch said the death would have a long-term negative political impact on the country, functioning of the federation and its relations with the provinces.
