NAUSHAHRO FEROZE, Aug 24: A severe shortage of water in Morio, Mahessar, Siyal, Bakhri, Khushik, Jatoi and Gul water channels has caused losses worth millions of rupees.

UC Mohbat Dero Nazim Ghaffar Dahraj told reporters at a press conference in Kandiaro on Thursday that Mahessar and Moria minors had received no water for six years.

He said that despite the flood situation water was not released into Siyal, Bakhri, Jatoi, Khushik and Jatoi minors. He said that thousands of farmers sustained losses due to shortage of water.

He said that water was not provided to them despite several complaints and meetings with the irrigation engineer.

He called upon the Sindh chief minister, irrigation minister and secretary irrigation to look into the matter.—Correspondent
