VEHARI, Aug 22: The city police have recovered three bodies from a house at Amjad Town in Burewala. The bodies of three members of a family were sent to laboratory in Lahore for chemical examination on Tuesday.

DHQ medical superintendent Dr Nasir Dilshad told this correspondent that after postmortem the samples of the decomposed bodies had been sent to Lahore. He said the three persons had died about two weeks back and the actual cause of the death would be known through the laboratory report.

The police claimed that they had recovered the three bodies on the complaint of neighbours who identified them as Perveen Akhtar, 40, her daughter Saima and her son Majid. The bodies were locked in iron boxes.

According to initial investigation, family head Mumtaz Chishti of Chak 215/EB, Burewala, had left his family due to some domestic problems about one month back and was staying with his relatives. The police arrested Mumtaz while his brother Mazhar Chishti fled.

According to a neighbour’s account, Mumtaz had been staying in this rented house for the last one and-a-half years which he left about three weeks ago. He was involved in counterfeit currency business.
