LARKANA, Aug 20: Hundreds of people from different localities of Qambar held a procession on Sunday to protest against municipal authorities for failing to supply them water.

The protesters led by members of Qambar district council, Punhal Soomro and Wali Mohammed Magsi started their march from Imambargah and culminated it in a protest demonstration outside the local press club.

The leaders said that the residents of Immambargah, Gaoshala, Bair Road, Ansari Mohalla and several other localities had time and again complained to officials concerned about unavailability of drinking water but they turned a deaf ear to their pleas.

Noor Khoso said that they had been getting contaminated water since many years. They did complain to the municipal authorities but to no avail, he said.

Rahim Mangi, a resident of Gharibabad, and a large number of people from Bagodero, Khoso Mohalla and the localities which received water from Rajwah water supply station said that they were forced to consume highly contaminated water.
