LAHORE, Aug 17: The police on Thursday confirmed the arrest of two class fellows of a Punjab University College of Information and Technology’s student who had been found murdered in Defence area on Tuesday last.

Officials told Dawn on Thursday that the Defence police had arrested Adnan and Arsalan, considering them as prime suspects. They said that girl’s father Dr Nisar Ahmed had suspected that the boys were her best friends and often dropped her to her house in Iqbal Town.

Dr Nisar said when he and his brother came to pick up Nida Nisar, 21, a student of third semester, on Tuesday afternoon, they were informed that she had gone with her class fellows. He said when the girl did not return they checked with her class fellows and relatives, but to no avail. Later, they visited the city mortuary where they identified her body.

The officials said police were interrogating both the boys and hoped that the murder mystery would be solved soon. —Staff Reporter
