ABBOTTABAD, Aug 13: The government of NWFP has allocated additional funds of Rs350 million to be paid to the legal heirs of earthquake victims, MPA Mazhar Qasim told journalists.

He said that NWFP Chief Minister Akram Khan Durrani has directed authorities for early disposal of claims.

Earlier, Rs100,000 had been paid to every family irrespective of the number of deaths in that family. Each family, he said, could now submit three claims of Rs100,000 each, notwithstanding the number of casualties.

Sardar Mohammad Yusuf, district nazim of Mansehra, said that he would now take up the issue of loss of life and property by floods and landslides and would call for payment of adequate compensation to the victims.
