SAHIWAL, Aug 11: The Yousafwala police arrested a Lahore Development Authority magistrate and three other employees after an exchange of harsh words over vehicular collision on Friday.

Reports said LDA magistrate Chaudhry Akhtar Ali, together with his gunman Mujahid Ali, reader Zahid and Amjad Iqbal was coming towards Lahore from Multan by his car (LZO-7200) with a blue revolving light. Rashly driven, the car collided with a patrol police vehicle (IDB-1953) over which the police started its chase.

As the driver accelerated, the magistrate’s car hit another official vehicle (LDP-2100) and at some distance touched yet another vehicle (IDT-1771).

A bus (IDX-7404) too was scratched by the hit-and-run vehicle which was eventually stopped by the police. A row ensued between the LDA officials and the police who, however, arrested the violators. The traffic on the Lahore-Multan Road remained suspended.
