ISLAMABAD, Aug 11: Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) Chairperson Benazir Bhutto on Friday stressed on the government to take effective measures for providing relief to flood victims.

In a statement, she said extraordinary rains in all parts of the country had caused massive loss of life and property.

She said rains ruined the entire system of Karachi, while 60 people died when a bridge collapsed in Mardan. Similarly, in Thatha, Badin, Tando Mohammad Khan and other coastal areas the rains and floods killed many people and destroyed the invaluable property of masses living there, she added.—PPI
