GILGIT, Aug 11: The Northern Areas chief executive has assigned the portfolio to seven advisers of the Northern Areas cabinet.

A notification issued in this regard said that Mrs Noor-ul-Ain had been assigned the departments of education, women development and social welfare, Mirza Hussain planning and development, finance, zakat & ushr, excise and taxation and cooperatives, Abdul Quddoos health, law, population welfare, prosecution, local government and rural development, Sikander Ali wildlife, food, agriculture, fisheries, livestock, information, water and power; Ibrahim Sanai public works, physical planning & housing, communication, public health engineering while Abdul Hamid has been given the portfolios of tourism, commerce, industries, labour, transport, mineral development, environment, sports and culture.

The notification said that home, S&GAD, forest, revenue and other subjects would be retained by the chief executive Northern Areas and federal minister for Kashmir Affairs and Northern Areas.
