NAWABSHAH, Aug 3: Residents of the Jam Saheb town on Thursday staged a protest demonstration against Hesco officials for not replacing the damaged transformer.
Protesters led by Abdul Majid Dahiri said that the transformer of the area was not working since last three days and they had informed the concerned Hesco office but no response has been given.
They said that the residents were passing miserable life due to non-supply of electricity. They demanded of the Hesco chief to take notice of their complaint and ensure restoration of power supply.
PMC HOSPITAL: Attendants of patients of gynaecology, urology and surgical wards of the People’s Medical College Hospital on Thursday staged a protest demonstration outside the administration block against suspension of electricity in hospital wards.
The enraged protesters said that there was no electricity in B-block of the hospital for three days and the patients, including serious surgical and gynaecology cases, were passing through hell.
They said that they made several complaints to the officials but so far electricity supply has not restored in the block.
When contacted, medical superintendent Dr Mohammad Ali Sirewal said that he had talked to the executive engineer of Hesco and the electricity supply would soon be restored.
INFLATED POWER BILLS: Residents of Nawabshah have protested against Hesco for issuing inflated bills for June-July. Residents told newsmen that Hesco has issued inflated bills and the reading in their meters was much less than shown in the bills even after 23 days of issuance of bills.
They said that Hesco has made it a routine and due to which poor consumers were suffering as they could not afford to pay such inflated bills.
They further said that thousands of Hesco consumers in Nawabshah were issued inflated bills and showing extra units which were not consumed.
They demanded of the Hesco chief to take strict notice of negligence of the Hesco staff and take action against them.
