MUZAFFARABAD, Aug 2: Four people were killed and another was injured after their car was swept away by torrents rushing downhill in Azad Kashmir on Wednesday.

A police official said that five people were riding the car when it got stuck in the fast-flowing water in a flooded stream near Dheengawali village in Bhimbher district.

The deceased were identified as Talib, (driver); Rukhsar, 8, Farzana, 14, and Zainal Abideen, 3, daughter and son of Ghulam Rasool were drowned while Ghulam Rasool survived in a seriously injured condition.

The police official said that two bodies had so far been taken out downstream and search was on to recover the remaining two.

In another incident, which occurred near Rawlakot in Poonch district, a 13-year-old boy, Hareer Khan, was hit by a wagon. The driver is reported to have escaped after the accident, he said.
