KARACHI: The annual Sindh Snooker Cup continued at the Legend Snooker Club on Friday, as 24 first-round matches were decided across four sessions.

Organised by the Sindh Billiards & Snooker Association (SBSA), the event has drawn a massive field of 151 players from all across the province.

With the first round now almost complete — only two matches remain to be played — a total of 55 players will be eliminated, while the top 32 ranked players have already secured their places in the third round.

The second day of action delivered a mix of dominant sweeps and closely fought battles.

Several cueists made short work of their opponents, registering clean 3–0 victories. Bilal Habib, Shahzaib Shehensah, Shabab Baig, Umer Butt, Aijab Khan and Ahsan Siddiqui all advanced without dropping a single frame.

The day, however, also belonged to the thrillers that went down to the wire.

The opening session set the tone with Yasin edging out Ubaid Ronnie 3–2. Similar nail-biting 3–2 finishes followed throughout the day, as Tariq Amin defeated Wajahat Zaidi, Ehtesham outlasted Muzammal Ansari, Humaid got the better of Aqib Nawaz and Malik Maraj Ahmed narrowly beat Malik Anwar.

The final session of the day saw Mohammad Hassan secure a tight 3–2 victory over Mohammad Adil Khan.

Beyond the provincial title, the top eight players from this tournament will secure qualification for the 51st National Snooker Championship 2027, set to be held in Karachi.
