Wonder Craft: The smart organiser

No matter how much we try to keep track of our stationery items, when we need them, they seem to disappear! And then begins the search for a pen, colours, eraser or ruler. This is frustrating for all of us, regardless of which grade we are in. So, instead of letting your table turn into a mess while searching for the right item, I have made a handy stationery organiser using cereal boxes and wrapping paper. Trust me, it has solved my problem! I can even add more compartments whenever I need them. Let’s get started!

Things you need:

  1. Empty cereal boxes (at least two)

  2. One empty vertical box (you can use a medicine or toothpaste box)

  3. Double-sided tape

  4. Hot glue

  5. Glue stick

  6. Ruler

  7. One cardboard piece

  8. Wrapping papers

Directions:

  1. Measure about two inches from the bottom of each cereal box and cut across to make the compartments. You can adjust the height if you want larger compartments; see pictures 2 and 3.

  2. Cut the vertical box to the height you need, depending on the stationery items you plan to keep in it. Mine is five inches tall; see picture 4.

  3. Wrap each compartment with your favourite wrapping paper with a glue stick; pictures 5 and 6.

  4. Ask an adult to help you join all the compartments using hot glue. You can adjust their sizes and arrangement to suit your needs; see picture 7.

  5. Paste all the compartments onto a piece of cardboard to give the organiser a sturdy base; pictures 8 and 9.

Your stationery organiser is ready! It is simple to make and can be customised to suit your needs. You can add as many compartments as you like and make them big or small, depending on the stationery items you want to keep. Now you can keep everything in one place instead of searching all over your table!
