LAHORE: The National College of Arts (NCA) opened “The Founder,” an exhibition of works by NCA students, in commemoration of the 150th birth anniversary of Quaid-i-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah on Thursday. The exhibition is part of the celebrations being organised throughout the year.
The exhibition brings together portraits and artistic interpretations of Quaid-i-Azam by third year NCA students, reflecting his character, personality and historical significance through contemporary visual expression.
The works were produced under the mentorship of R.M. Naeem, associate professor in the Department of Fine Arts and recipient of the President’s Award for Pride of Performance; along with Mina Mohsin and Nisha Hassan.
SOLO EXHIBITION: A solo exhibition by visual artist Javeria Salar Khan will bring the dialogue between art, science and human perception into focus.
Presented under the supervision of Studio VQ at Lahore’s Studio BQ and curated by Bin Qulander, the exhibition from Nov 5 to 12 invites audiences to contemplate the relationship between the smallest elements of existence and the infinite universe.
An NCA graduate, Javeria Salar, approaches her artistic practice with a fascination for the natural sciences, cosmic phenomena and the philosophical questions surrounding human existence. Her work investigates the boundaries between what is seen, what is perceived and what may exist beyond the immediate understanding. She creates imagery reminiscent of distant galaxies, nebulae and microscopic worlds.
The exhibition also incorporates projected visual elements, introducing another dimension to the artist’s investigation of light and space.
