KARACHI: The Sui Southern Gas Company (SSGC) on Wednesday finally announced its gas supply schedule for Sindh and Balochistan, confirming that domestic consumers will get gas for only eight hours a day, and that too only during meal times.

According to the schedule posted on its website and shared on official social media accounts, gas will be available during three cooking slots — 6:30am to 9am (breakfast), 12noon to 2:30pm (lunch) and 6pm to 9pm (dinner).

For the past several years, the utility has not been providing round-the-clock supply to domestic consumers during winter, citing shortages.

The utility said that it was managing gas load effectively this winter and ensuring a steady gas supply as per the directives of the federal government.
