KASUR: The Crime Control Department (CCD) claimed on Wednesday to have solved the blind murder of an 11-year-old boy, whose body was found near his home in the fields in the Hussain Khanwala village.

According to details, a case was registered against an unidentified suspect after the 11-year-old victim F went missing and the family later recovered his body from the fields near their house.

Police shifted the body of the victim to DHQ Hospital and started investigations.

On Tuesday, a CCD team questioned the victim’s aunt, who was also the last person to see the victim alive. After interrogation, she was released.

According to CCD DSP Muhammad Ateeque Dogar, she told the investigators that at about 10:30am, she was at the victim’s house and sitting with his mother. She said that she sent the victim to her house after she heard noises coming from there.

The CCD claimed that the child walked into an ongoing burglary and the thief managed to take the victim to the fields on the backside of the house and strangled him to death. CCD further claimed that the suspect sexually abused the corpse before dumping the body at another location to mislead the investigators.

To a question, DSP Dogar told Dawn that some villagers had seen a local teenager leaving the crime scene. He claimed that the CCD team arrested one M (16) of the same locality, who admitted to the crime. The team also recovered a piece of string allegedly used to strangle the child.

DSP Dogar said that the string and DNA samples of the suspect had been sent for forensic analysis. It is worth mentioning that the village, Hussain Khanwala some 20kms from Kasur, in the limits of the Ganda Singh police station, remained in the headlines for the Kasur child pornography scandal in 2015.
