The district administration will directly oversee the establishment of ‘model villages’ and the project for the provision of clean water in the 26 villages. Initially, Rs50 million will be allocated to each tehsil for this purpose.

This information was shared with participants of a meeting held to discuss the establishment of model villages and clean water supply projects. He further mentioned that, in the initial phase, development funds of Rs50 million are being provided to each tehsil to enable the commencement of work on the model village development projects.

They said out of the 241 existing water filtration plants across the district, 182 were operational.

Furthermore, under the Chief Minister’s Saaf Pani Programme, 252 new water filtration plants, comprising 94 Reverse Osmosis (RO) plants and 158 media filtration plants, were being installed in five tehsils of Rawalpindi.
