TAXILA: Two suspects allegedly belonging to the Odh gang involved in a double murder were killed in a shootout with the Crime Control Department (CCD) in Attock, officials said on Saturday.

A police spokesperson claimed that the suspects were killed by their own accomplices during an exchange of fire near Bota village on Bhattiyot Road.

The deceased were identified as Haq Nawaz alias Haqoo, described by police as the alleged mastermind and head of the Odh gang, and Saleem alias Sheem. Two .30-bore pistols were reportedly recovered from their possession.

Police said the suspects were wanted in connection with the abduction and murder of two persons in Fatehjang, including 11-year-old Saim Raza, who was reportedly taken from Vehari, and an unidentified mentally disabled man abducted from the Rawat area along G.T. Road on Sept 24.

According to investigators, the victims were allegedly killed with axes and sticks, and their bodies disfigured to conceal their identities. Police further claimed that the suspects had posed as relatives of the victims and lodged a false case against their rivals, accusing them of abducting his daughter for sexual exploitation.

The investigation by Fatehjang police reportedly exposed the alleged double murder and identified the complainants as the main suspects.
