Russia denies evacuating diplomatic staff, nuclear specialists from Iran

Russia’s embassy in Tehran has denied reports that its diplomats and specialists working at the Bushehr nuclear power plant are planning to evacuate, Al Jazeera reports.

“Neither embassy staff nor Russian specialists at the Bushehr nuclear power plant have any plans to evacuate. Work continues as normal,” the embassy has said in a statement, adding that reports to the contrary were “FAKES”.

The Bushehr site, Iran’s only operating nuclear facility, has come under repeated attack during the ongoing US-Israel war on Iran, with satellite imagery released in July showing damage inside the complex.
