LAHORE: An under-arrest suspect was allegedly shot dead during an encounter with the Lahore Crime Control Department (CCD) in the Green Town area here on Thursday.

A police official claimed that the CCD team was taking the suspect, identified as Noor, for the recovery of looted items when his armed accomplices opened fire on the police. The police returned the fire, which led to an armed clash, he claimed.

Resultantly, the suspect was allegedly killed by the firing of his own accomplices, the police official claimed. He further claimed that the attackers fled the scene and police teams were dispatched to trace and arrest them.

The police official claimed that the suspect was involved in several criminal activities.

The police had shifted the suspect’s body to the city morgue for autopsy.
