LARKANA, July 30: The chief election commissioner on Friday issued a notification regarding unseating of the district naib nazim.

The CEC called for electing new naib nazim on August 3. Nomination papers for electing new district naib nazim will be received on August 1, by the returning officer.

Badar Abbasi, the senior most presiding officer of the council, said that the election would be held through show of hands as required under the Sindh Local Government Ordinance.

The Khushhal Pakistan Panel being backed by Sindh minister Haji Altaf Unnar has nominated Syed Ali Raza Shah, nazim union council, Phull, as a candidate for the seat of district naib nazim.

It was expected the ADP and the SNF would jointly field a candidate for the seat.

Following is the party position: KPP (27), Sindh National Front (five), Awam Dost Panel (23), Sarwan Ittehad (four) Independents (three) and JUI (one).
