RAWALPINDI: The Pakistan Post has issued a revised Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) for pension disbursement and proof of life verification, under which pensioners will be required to complete their digital proof of life through Nadra every six months, while family pensioners under specific conditions will also have to submit a non-marriage/non-remarriage certificate.

According to the letter issued to the officials concerned, the proof of life verification can be done through Nadra’s Pak ID mobile app, authorised registration centres, mobile units, e-Sahulat franchises and bank branches or mobile apps operating as authorised Nadra centres.

A manual alternative has been provided for pensioners who do not have access to digital facilities or cannot get verified due to extreme old age or medical reasons, in the form of manual life certificate form No. 10.

For Pakistani pensioners residing abroad, form No. 11 has been designated, while for such family pensioners, form No. 12 has been fixed.

In family cases where continuation of pension is conditional upon marital status, a non-marriage or non-remarriage certificate verified by the union council concernedwill have to be submitted to the pension facilitation centre. In case updated information regarding marital status is not available in the Nadra record, the prescribed alternative procedure can also be adopted.

The Pakistan Post’s directorate of accounts has directed all offices concernedto inform the pensioners about the procedure.
