ISLAMABAD: The Capital Development Authority (CDA) has intensified its citywide cleanliness drive to improve sanitation, remove waste and maintain public spaces, roads, green belts and parks in a clean and hygienic condition.

The Environment Wing is conducting coordinated cleanliness operations across different sectors, roads, streets, green belts, parks and other public places.

The drive focuses on regular collection and disposal of solid waste, removal of accumulated garbage and cleaning of roadsides and public spaces.

The authority said field teams and sanitation staff were working to improve operational efficiency, strengthen monitoring and ensure that cleanliness activities were carried out systematically throughout the city.

Chairman Sohail Ashraf has stressed the importance of keeping Islamabad clean, green and pollution-free, saying a well-maintained capital was essential for public health, environmental sustainability and the quality of life of residents.

The CDA chairman has said sustained cleanliness efforts were essential not only for improving the city’s appearance but also for environmental protection, disease prevention and better urban management.

It has urged citizens to cooperate with sanitation teams by disposing of waste responsibly, avoiding littering, protecting green areas and keeping their surroundings clean. The authority said maintaining a clean Islamabad was a shared responsibility and reaffirmed its commitment to improving municipal services and environmental management across the capital.
