ISLAMABAD: A 15-member cultural delegation from Bangladesh arrived in the federal capital on Friday for a four-day visit aimed at strengthening cultural ties and promoting artistic cooperation between Pakistan and Bangladesh after a gap of 30 years.

The delegation was headed by Joint Secretary, Ministry of Cultural Affairs, Bangladesh, Md Mizanur Rahman, who was received upon arrival at Islamabad International Airport.

A statement issued here said that the visit had been arranged at the invitation of the National Heritage and Culture Division, Pakistan, as part of efforts to promote cultural diplomacy, foster mutual understanding and strengthen people-to-people connections between the two countries.

During its four-day stay, the delegation will participate in cultural performances and related activities scheduled for Oct 17 and 18 at the Pakistan National Council of the Arts (PNCA) and Lok Virsa.

The programme will provide a platform for Pakistani and Bangladeshi artists and performers to showcase their cultural traditions, exchange artistic experiences and celebrate their shared cultural affinities.

The visit was expected to open new avenues for cultural exchanges, artistic collaboration and institutional cooperation, while providing opportunities for greater interaction between the cultural communities of the two countries.

The exchange underscored the importance of culture as a bridge between nations and reflected Pakistan’s commitment to strengthening friendly relations with Bangladesh through the promotion of arts, music and performing traditions.
